"Sony's non-comic films have been terribly handled of late as well. The hack just proved how incompetent its leadership is.
And recent Sony comic films have been far worse than the standard MCU movie and took few risks outside of one that they spoiled immediately. Watching it was obvious how much execs ran everything into a grinder so it'd be nice if they had a leadership change."
Marketing Intern (Former Employee) says"I was an intern there when the company was going through a lot of changes and a lot of people were fired. I was also my managers first intern ever so I felt like he just didn't really know what to do with me or what tasks were good for interns. Bad mentorship program, not a lot of room for growth. Didnt get much out of it however I was just an intern"
Assistant (Former Employee) says"Not a great place to work with zero chance of finding a new job ifHR and management are against you. The place is good if you are a manager or an executive that they value. Pretty much not goodl if you are a worker.A jobPay, advancement choices, management, Hr...."
Human Resources Intern (Former Employee) says"Besides making trash movies this place was trash. nothing about it screamed amazing and the people you work with and pricks and don't show you how to do anything at the end of the day find a better job"
Director - International Operations (Former Employee) says"At Sony, I had an opportunity to matriculate through several departments and travel internationally. It was a great experience and very exciting. I'd recommend it to anyone.Free movies, great compensationLong hours"
prduction (Current Employee) says"I really work not recommend working here unless you know someone who can get you a job or you already have a contact within SonypaycheckAwful managers, no structure for advancement and low pay"
Sony Pictures TV (Former Employee) says"This place is a joke. High School cliques. Mean girls. Laziness. NO leadership. Bullying. People using slurs. Women wearing shorts and high heels to WORK!! The tighter and shorter your skirt the further you will probably get. Also, if you go to HR they will tell you, you & the person that have the problem, go fix it alone....we are not getting involved. Isn't that what HR is supposed to be there for? To mediate? Not here...beware and make sure you get what your salary will be because they promised me something and after I gave my notice at my job and talked to them again the lowered my number. Good luck in that cesspool.NothingEverything"
Senior Counsel (Former Employee) says"Don't work here unless you have to! Sony Studios is a disaster. The people at the top treat everyone like a minion with no added value. There's no company moral and employees are just there for a paycheck. Of all the studios, this is the worst one to work at.Nice lot and some pretty cool company perksEverything. Stay away."
Coordinator Assistant (Former Employee) says"I think this is one of the most political biased places a worker could go to. Great if your an ex or manager, awful to be a worker, union is even worse if that is possibleA jobNo advancement, awful management and really hard to get a better job"
Manager, Publicity & Promotions (Former Employee) says"No support from management. departments dont know what each other are doing. old boys club in full effect and dont have an independant thought. That just doesnt work theregood payhorrible environment"
Worked here for a bit and had a fairly good time (Former Employee) says"Worked here for a bit and had a fairly good time but I do have to say that at the end of my experience I find that I only love my job more and more. Everyone else was great... including your boss."
Photo Editor (Current Employee) says"Probably one of the worst places I've ever worked. The management seems unwilling to change and exploits their lower end workers. The company itself pays well but you have to deal with the bad company culture which makes you question whether the pay is worth it."
Director (Former Employee) says"This used to be a great place to work, but now it's very negative. I would hope that a senior management change will change the attitude of all of the employees."
REGIONAL SALES MANAGER (Former Employee) says"Weak management group with lack of vision and inability to foresee oncoming issues. Leadership group tended to let you fell empowered but where truly clueless as it pertained to understanding the nature of discontent amongst the workforce.HollywodTerrible Management"
Director (Former Employee) says"Sony sold itself well. The reality was different. The company had clear structural problems. When I came onboard, it was obvious that it would undergo changes. The company was late in making those changes compared to competitors. My manager was wonderful but his boss was absent. Little interest in our division. To add, the company continued (and continues) producing garbage. It is not for nothing, but that's the way you ensure the slow death of your company. More so when you do not know how to hire or attract quality talent. It is sad that the only thing they can do well is a franchise they don't even own. C-level is not equipped to lead. They do know how to take risks. It's not that they do not take risks, they don't know how to take them well. Ghostbusters, Passengers, Men In Black 4 is the garbage this team is paving the future with. In short, management is squeezing the life and the morale out of the company. Plus, the pay is awful. Most of my colleagues are either jumping ship, waiting to get laid-off or miserable. Those that are happy, enjoy the cash not the work."
Transcriptionist (Former Employee) says"The title says it all... company uses freebies and food to placate not paying its employees what they should be paid. Work was also highly unorthodox yet repetitive, almost mind-numbing.Bbqs, end of the year holiday parties, free random breakfasts/lunchesLow pay, no raise or yearly increase, unpaid holidays, no overtime"
Coordinator GMS (Current Employee) says"Similar to the content distributed Sony Pictures is average at best. Its culture isn't one for promoting within nor for rewarding extra effort. Most managers expect their teams to work very hard for little thanks or recognition and with cost savings as the top priority a 'you can be replaced' mentality has permeated. Go elsewhere.studioAverage at best. Not a place to grow"
Manager, Field Publicity & Marketing Partnerships (Former Employee) says"Coming from a large, thriving company, the culture felt secretive and separatist. Not a good fit for me, but it might be great for someone transitioning from a small company or someone who prefers less collaboration. Also there are some very smart people I felt lucky to meet."
Technical Integration Specialist (Former Employee) says"At Sony you will face a heavy top loaded structure with limited appetite for change but a rhetoric of advertising themselves for change. There are many opportunities and good people there, but if you have an ambitious, creative and progressive attitude this might not be the place for you."
Participations Analyst, Television Division (Former Employee) says"I was part of the union. It was different than regular employees, but for some reason I had union benefits. Somewhat complicated since such a large company, easy to fall in the cracks.Free ScreeningsPay was low, company too large"
shipping clerk and production coordiantor . (Former Employee) says"Its really a strange place. They have jobs that they need filled yet they do not look at people on the lot that need to fill them and would want to fill them. Its really a tough place to work and make a living.a JOBSo many..we shall talk later...."
Evan says"You guys need to fire everyone and start from the beginning lol your entire story writing team is ruining it and can only produce cringe at best "
Vilmos Szladki says"Worst company ever."
sarah woodhead says"TERRIBLE I BOUGHT TRAINSPOTTING 2 CODE TWICE AND NEITHER WILL PLAY IVE TRIED CONTACTING THEM TO NO AVAIL STEER CLEAR TERRIBLE"
bosica says"First three movies were ok but know this is starting to become a disaster. Bullet time Matrix wannabe really doesn't suit these series. Someone should take the series from Paul W.S. Anderson's hands until he ruins these series as well."
Ansir Ali says"Purchased a limited edition steelbook of Spiderman Homecoming UHD with 3D bluray and digital download. I redeemed the digital code and only received an SD, HD digital copy. I contacted them about not receiving a UHD copy and they asked for proof which i provided photos including the receipt and they've just stopped communicating with me. Extremely poor customer service and a very greedy corporation. Update: Turns out the emails failed to deliver due to Sony not accepting emails with more than 2 attachments, which kind of makes them look very stupid when they ask you to send them a picture of the case, UHD disc, the UPC barcode and receipt as proof of purchase. I finally managed to obtain my UHD digital copy but with great difficulty. I've added an extra star but a UHD digital code should be given with any UHD purchase."
Sujith Simon says"Very bad before it was ok but aftrr that it became worse what to do"
Josh says"Fair experience"
